We are located on 5 acres in Battle Ground, Washington, on the border between Washington and Oregon. We are approximately 30 minutes from the Portland airport. We are a small hobby breeder and typically have around 6-8 dogs ranging in age from our very young dogs to our very old retirees. Our small number of dogs allows us to provide excellent care and attention for all of our dogs and litters and still have time to actively raise, train and compete with our dogs.
We have very large fenced exercise yards for our dogs throughout our property.
We have an enclosed building (still under construction) with large kennel runs for the dogs when they are not out in the yards. All of our dogs sleep indoors at night
Our puppies are raised entirely in our home. They spend the first 4 weeks of life in our bedroom in a safe, comfortable and clean environment for mom and new babies. As the pups get a bit older they come out of the whelping box to play and explore the bedroom.
At around 4 weeks of age the pups are moved into our specially designed "puppy condo". The condo is made entirely of easily cleaned vinyl and plastic for a healthy and clean environment. The puppies have a potty box with shavings to use in part of their condo, they learn at a very young age to keep their sleeping and play areas clean. The condo is great fun and it is expanded as they grow. That there are swings, slides, tunnels and teeter totters to explore and always new toys to play with.
At around 5 weeks old they start spending time outside on nice days in their outdoor puppy yard or they run and explore around inside the house when the weather is not so nice. We go for walks on our property to experience and explore new environments, and our puppies are socialized with friends, cats and other dogs.
We have a Schutzhund (IPO) field on our property and an active all breed sport dog training club, Tri-Mountain Dogsport Association, which is a full member club of USRC.
When we are on the road with our dogs, at a show or trial or just training out of town, we travel with the dogs with our home away from home.
